I changed my radiator today, my EL one was blocked so I put my ED 1 in that has done less than 500k's since reconditioning. I used the ED centre pipe on the drivers side as the EL 1 is straight and the ED one has a bend in the end and I used the ED lower hose with a bit of EL pipe jammed in the water pump end so that it fits.

Anyway back to my question, what is the oil that goes through the radiator and where do I top it up?

Im guessing you mean the transmission oil cooling lines?

If so, its trans fluid, and top it up at the transmission ;)

Make sure you level the car when you jack it up. the bush mechanic way is use a long garden hose and a funnel at one end. stick one end of the hose into the filler hole then pour the trans oil from the drivers side. bend down and look if oil is flowing out. stop if it does cause its now full.
