as per sig, 102RWKW / 439NM. From the Crescent Motorsport Dyno. Most people on the day were disappointed by 20KW, and I was expecting ~115-120RWKW.

Engine with only 120,000 REAL KM. K&N filter, XR8 Snorkel.
Wade 1604 cam coming soon.

is there any way of calculating RWKW from enginge with out getting it on the dynos?

i be putting 161kw at flywheel, so would that roughly work out to be 130ish??

Taking a stab in the dark here.

FWKW=RWHP
roughly

From that, I should've gotten ~117RWKW at the dyno. About what I was expecting, and nearly the 20KW difference everyone was complaining about.

you actually lose about i third of your power from flywheel through the drivetrain to the rear wheels.

Yes and the conversion from kw to hp is roughly 30% as well.

1/3rd is a good guestimate but there is so many factors at play. Auto's vs. manuals (lol, how do you account for torque multiplication of the torque converter?), condition of diff, viscosity of trans/diff fluids. Heck, even different gears will alter kw readings.

But yeah - 1/3rd or 33% or fwkw=rwhp etc.

So you are saying I lose about 115kw through my drivetrain. I dont think so... Johnno's post is what most people use as a "guide", RWHP=FWKW

Big HP engines blow the theory to pieces  Personally i think drivetrain loss is more a fixed hp as opposed to a % of hp being produced.

You should replace the big wind-up rubber band with a real tail shaft then.

I had 110 rwkw on the dyno when i was getting my lpg tuned. Had the XH snorkle and EA pipe mod done, new airfilter, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor button, leads, a slight advance in timing over stock. My car has a 2.5ish sports zorts fitted, missing the last little muffler, still pretty quiet tho. No extractors yet. As soon as i can afford some.

Dunno how accurate the dyno was, they said it was a while since it was tuned for accuracy. It's only really used to simulate onroad driving to tune the ECU without driving it, they don't care about the power output. So it could be off a bit, but it's a good enough reading for me for now.

I'm more concerned with the power my torana's 173ci 6cyl will have once i get the turbo setup running. :D

Cheers

ToranaGuy

114RWKW from last dyno, but since then I've been modding. Before and after G-Tech runs show an 8RWKW difference.

CAn't wait for the next dyno, as I seem to have found some extra torque around 4,000RPM :)
