Problable in the wrong area but stuff it! a week a go i got a good job and yeah wanting to know of any one like what kind of ford falcon/fairlane/fairmont should i buy

like for example a stock AU (have seen a few cheap ones) or EF/EL ie XR6 (seen a couple nice manuals for roughly 7>8k ish) or get a MPFI EA/EB any suggestions

Taking into consideration wanting to spend around the 5k mark maybe more for the right car and going to help the sistuation like to trade the ea towards a new car.

any feedback would be good. cheers :D

dont start with an EA/EB/ED when the ef/el's are gettin so cheap, they are a much better package.

you can pick a nice ef/el fairmont up for about 6-7k with <170,000 if you hunt around. however you will be stuck with the auto which is hard to get moving.

For around the $4-5k mark you can usually pick up an EF, theres a few manuals around in those. Thats what i did, done a few simple mods and damn it looks tidy now.

If it were me, I'd try to find a schmick EBII XR6 manual.

Failing that, stretch the budget for an EF or EL XR6.

Just make sure she's a manual :)

Pffft :P
You'll be able to get a nice higher spec ED rather then a low spec EF/EL for 5k.
Plus you might even have some left over for lowering, rims and an exhaust.

I'm a big fan of the Pre-EF E-series, but you have to admit that the difference between the ED to EF is very significant in terms of more modern looking styling and that.
But seriously, f**k new cars, get something old, lots of cheap XA-XC sedans being sold around here lately, so very very tempting!!!

Really the only 'aged' part is the interior... exterior still looks sharp IMO.
Everything else is virtually identical!

Oh yeah..... you could go ballistic with the mods & not worry about any expensive aftermarket ECU. now who's selling a 1965 XP 2 door hard top? hehehe
