96 EL XR6
149,600km
$9.5k + roadworthy + set of new tyres
Navy Blue

This is exactly what im looking for (but its missing body kit :()
Its a bit pricey too, but low Km's and looks EMAC con..

Have made contact with seller, wouldnt mind going for a test drive or inspection...

I am either going to let it go or make a deposit on it and wait until i can pay the rest later this year..

On a different issue, where can u get the EL xr6 body kits from? i checked ebay but probs dodgey... wreckers?

Anyway what do u think of the car?
its 9,5K, might be able to haggle it down a bit.. 149,000k's...

I dont know whether to just get a cheaper car, pick up a fairmont and put an AU engine in haha... I donno.. what u think of the car?

Price is steep but.

If it's a first car, it's gonna cost you a crap-load to insure! You could definitely find cheaper than that, too. I'd do what I did and buy a fairmont and mod it. Bargains come and go all the time with car sales.

aight cheers man.

not insuring it lol...

just 3rd party and fire n theft probs...

But if im not insuring it i shud get something cheaper too... Love the EL Xr6's to death tho..

might just try find one with higher K's... but i want to wait and try buy one of an old geezer, so its been driven by a feather footer... not one thats been f**k.. also looking for one 100% stock..

In saying all that tho, id settle for a nice EL fairmont or fairmont ghia if one came up for a good deal..

Even third party would probably cost upwards of $600 to insure an xr6, as it's a 'performance car'. It cost me about $500 to third party my EA falcon last year through NRMA.

for that sort of dollars you could buy a BA XR6. An 05 BA XR6 turbo went for 12 grand in my area the other day, only had 90 thou on it too

Serious? Farrrk. I thought XR6T's were still around the 20k mark.

People seem to overprice their EF and EL fairmonts and ghias due to the good rep they have. ED fairmont might show you a few more problems and less appealing appearance due to longer life, but won't cost you nearly as much.

Yeah.. I like the look of EF Fairmonts more than the EL's... Wouldnt really have a problem as long as is Navy Blue and runs well... lol

:|

lol thats sick..

something around the 5k bracket will do nicely..

Has to have the right history and look good.. my options in order of preference:

EL XR6
EL Fairmont/Ghia
EF/II Fairmont/Ghia

Around or less than 175k's ideal..

mehh.. shud just buy a 2g ef fairmont and dump in an AU engine. only cost a couple g on top..

Thats all they are worth. Seems like they can't even give away anything with a 6 cylinder engine round here, even if they through in a big mac.
