Yeah what Year and Month Did the 3.9 get scrapped for the 4L like i own a EB i assume it is a 3.9 because the tappet cover head and airbox lid are the same as a 3.9 EA but the fuel filter is the screw type and looked in the valvoline filter book and it say that the screw type is the 4L fileter and the the 3.9 is the hose and hose clamp type.

I was wonder could have the previous owner done a head and replace with a 3.9? were the first 4L have the older airbox? when did the airboxes change?

Eb series twos were the first of the four litres. My eb has the screw type fittings on the fuel filter, but is only a 3.9. Also, dont the four litres have 4.0L on the rocker cover?

it came out with the release of EB2 which was apr 92 but some cars would have been "built" earlier than that hence why someone saw a 2/92 EB2

Mines an Apr 92 EB1 with the 4.0l. No Smartlock which is why I think it's an EB1.
