Don't want to hijack this thread but don't want to start a whole new one either, I'm having some fuel economy issues can someone advise me what to try next?...

She came back with new front bearings wheel alignment, full service, new o2 sensor.... was hoping that would sort my economy issues as I would be lucky to get 380kms from a tank, got her back and put a full tank of 95 octane fuel in and Ive a quarter tank left and only done 280kms....I'll be lucky to get 350kms by the time I have to refill.

Contributing factors I can think of.....We do a lot of stop/ start driving as its only 13kms to my work and the missus 3kms, so we are not traveling big distances either, The car doesn't get flogged at all, its like driving Miss Daisy, Also exhaust needs replacing as has a few holes, this will be done as soon as because one of the leaks is at the cat which is directly under left foot, not good.(I think this is also contributing to some noise issues that I've been having for a while, sounds like water boiling Ive got to ask mechanic about it tomorrow its doing my head in... hoping is just the exhaust.) So next month I'm aiming to get the exhaust fixed hopefully, or will be done the month after for sure, so then I will be able to eliminate the exhaust as cause for poor fuel economy.

The only other thing I can think of doing is disconnect the battery to reset the computer, fill it full of premium and run the tank out on the motorway, next weekend i reckon weather permitting, take the family up the coast. (Haha I probably should have tried that first before posting this whole essay, I'm just a little sick of throwing money at this car now), sorry bout the long post any thoughts/ comments appreciated, thanks for reading.

No way! 8L/100 around town is not do-able in a Falcon 6!

I guess our definitions of 'around town' could all be a bit different...inner city might mean creeping through traffic at 10km/h for 25 mins per day, while someone in a country area might drive through town without hitting a set of lights! There are always so many variables in these discussions.

My cousins 351 XT sitting sleeping next to me in the garage uses i s**t you not 1L to 3kms.
It gets driven to 7k most drives and is untuned. Very expensive to do 1 lap in.
