i guess you cant really go wrong with genuine parts, the BF oil filter is only 2 buck more, (AFL101)
so $18 including postage, anyone know the prices of them at repco, supercheap etc?

I only use the K&N or Drift filters, they got the magnet in the center of them and they are only like $16.

I didn't know that bolt head welded onto them was a nagnet. I thought it was so you could get them off with a socjet or spanner instead of messing about with a peski filter wrench.

I always thought it was just a nut as well. Learn something new.

I have never required to use a filter wrench...except the first time I service the car after purchase. After that, with a regular service, I can remove the filter with the aid of some grippy gloves from above...granted it is an effort, still easier than the tool. Not sure how so many filters get jammed on so hard!

I've ha alot of filters at work that seem o have been put on by hulk hogan himself.
I think people disregard the "seal contact then 2/3turn" and go for the lets see how tight we can get this.
Same as sump plugs, cos you know that C*** gonna leak unless it's at 60nm
