and 2 1/4 high flow cat (You don't want to go any bigger than 2 1/4 with the cat or you will lose back pressure and lose power down low)

Going a smaller diameter cat defeats the purpose of fitting the 2 1/2" exhaust. Might as well keep the original 2 1/4" exhaust.

The exhaust only flows as good as the most restricive section in it...

More grunt knows what i'm talking about!
the zorst doesn't work the as the intake, bigger pipe doesn't mean better flow. I did my study's on this before i did it and had a long chat with joe from cresent motorsports about this and worked out the 2 1/4 cat will help keep the velocity through the zorst and there for help keep the bottom end power!!

Don't argue with the physicist lol. You can never win against physics. The laws of nature will slap you down every time.

just to put a price perspective, I just got a quote from lees exhaust in slacks creek QLD for this system-

Pacemaker 4480 extractors
stainless 2.5in mandrel zorst
H/flow modd cat
Hooker aerochamber muffler

$1350-$1400 fitted

and also this from Right Price-

Pacemaker 4480 ext
2.5 in mandrel exhaust- aluminised (pex brand)
New cat and muffler

$940 fitted.

system one sh!ts all over system 2, but is 500 bucks justified in everyones opinion? How well will the aluminesd steel zorst hold up against a stainless? and Im thinking that If Im gunna go and fit comp paccies, then might as well fit a hooker as well to get make horsies outa the setup...

Personal opinion counts for the extra dosh.

Stainless Steel works really well at lasting a long time. But I'd go with the cheaper one cos I'm not likely to need the extended lifetime of Stainless Steel.

So its really individual

Stainless steel wont rust. Big price difference. You gunna keep your car for ever though? If not it shouldnt really matter then.

Aluminised pipe is also resistant to rust...... to a point.

so if maybe I purchased the hooker muffler from the first guy and had it fitted at the other joint with their ext and zorst it may save some $$$? prolly a good compromise.
