Mine actually has quite a good idle, it has been mistaken for a v8 once or twice. When u get her going however, she starts to sound average.

Yea it seems lukey is the better option.

if your not a fan of too loud go with a twim muffler system put pne just b4 the diff and have either a hotdog placed near the tail pipe or run another smaller muffler just after the cat

I want it to be loud, just not "look at me im a d***head!!" loud.
I think the exhaust id be going for would be one that has 1 muffler and 1 resonator just before the tip. 2.5" ofcourse.

Yea that sounds like an alright system.
The one i currently have is generally quiet but starts to gain volume around 2500> rpm. It also has a drone zone only at around 60 km/h (1300ish rpm) but being a quiet system, it kinda sounds good..

extractos arnt going to make you car louder in the first place it only makes it flow better, as for the exhaust system im running a 2.5" single muffler redback system it's not too loud has a nice tone and no over the top drone at 100

Thanks for that.
I'v got extractors but im enquiring more about the resonators: what they do, where are they best positioned, do i even need them, and what is the difference between the three exhausts above.

Resonators are like basic mufflers - they reduce noise but not as much as a proper muffler - they're usually smaller than a proper muffler. Resonators are usually used to pull the drone out of a system without overly otherwise affecting volume or note.

Bit of an old thread but...

I've been trying to decide between that Lukey and that Redback one with the Supercat muffler...the Lukey doesn't appear to be mandrel bent, both in the picture and in the description. Anyone else notice that?

Yep that lukey one looks to be very s**t exhaust. I would go supercat over that one for sure.

That's a real bugger as I've heard Lukeys sound very nice. Unfortunately I just can't justify buying that as it's crush bent, not mandrel bent. The other day I cut up an old XF 2.5 inch system to use some of the pipe, and the amount of area the pipe loses in the crush bent area is alarming. :?

Looks like it's the redback for me...

Lukey are usually mandrel bent. If its the same system in the picture they have showed, I wouldn't bother with it.

I sent the seller of that Lukey a message asking him whether it's mandrel or crush bent, I guess in a few hours we'll find out.

That is not the original Lukey exhaust photo...

As far as I know, Lukey do mandrel bend exhausts and look like the picture on this website

http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/produ ... a57fc3eac0

I have bought 2 Lukey systems and am happy with it.

I got an answer back from the seller of that Lukey one, he said it's mandrel bent. I assume the picture is just a stock picture. I think I'll buy one of them now that I know it's mandrel bent.
