Factory lift is .236 on the intake and .226 on exhaust for a 94da cam according to my notes so looks like you have a regrind.

You can make your own degree wheel easy enough (http://www.tavia.com/free_degree_wheel.html). I would also be doing what arm said and looking for a profile stamped on the end or shaft of the cam.

If its around 480 thou lift it could be something like a wade 1004-110 which does have a cranky idle and prone to stalling until the ECU learns.

Do you think it is odd that this cam has such a small BCD ?

Not sure, dont have the base circle specs and only reground cams here.

Whats does the lobe lift work out to?

Base circle diameter for the 94DA is 2.090"

Lobe lift EX. 0.227" IN. 0.237"

Cheers

Can you get a look at the end of the cam? If so, does it have something stamped in it... Most cam regrinders stamp some ID there.

I have sourced a stock cam and the car is up and running (smoothly) again.

Now there is a number stamped into the end of the unknown camshaft, 1004 112, any ideas which model? So I guess this one and my surecam will be up for sale soon :)

Thanks for your help guys,
J

The EL hybrid engine has more differences that you could poke a stick at.
The bottom end is different too, crank & rods & pistons, main caps & bolts, have a crank brace/girdle fitted. so this EL is an EL 3, which started at 2/98 & finnished 9/98, the start of the AU's.

a) I dare say you posted this in the wrong section

b) You are 90% wrong as to what is different in a hybrid.
