Yeah my mate who as a EF Fairmont Ghia has just put a Lukey exhaust on his car, sounds alrite but he reckons it doesnt go much better at all. I said 'thats what you get for paying only $220 for a sports exhaust'. :)

I was led to believe that the Redback systems have only one muffler as well.

Well I guess it comes down to what you like the best and what information you believe, I just got told too many times that Redback was the choice to go, but either way they both give awsome notes so dont worry about that.

I personally couldnt tell te difference between the systems noise wise, but if you go to the lukey webpage they have audio files you can play to give you a fair idea of what your car will sound like. :P

Figured I would get my bit in. I have JUST picked up the XR (20 mins ago) after having a full system installed from headers to tips.

The note is unreal. The power is unreal. The economy - worry about that later.

D&T in Adelaide did a full custom job on it, bringing it out the back to twin pipes - IE they have added another one on the left to mirror the one on the right.

I will get some pics up soon.

BTW - Don't ask me the price yet. I have to figure a way to tell the boss lady.

Yes please do tell dude, i might give these D&T people a call, i still wouldnt mind doing a custom jobby on the XR. I was looking at types of mufflers this arvo and im starting to wonder about getting somthing completely different.

Lukey have a Racing muffler to suit race condtions which give an even better increase in torque and acceleration than a regular turbo or hi-flow muffler.. Hmmm the mind boggles :)

D & T Exhaust in Adelaide did the job on the XR. Start with 2 1/2" headers (fully mandrel bent), new cat converter then splits to 2 x 2 1/4" pipes just behind the rear axle. Then they followed the axle across to the passenger side & brought another tip out there to mirror the drivers side. The note is unreal (no need to use the door bell when I get home), power is thru the roof when I need it, & the economy is better than ever for when I am been good. And to top it off, it looks hot.

i just got my new exhaust in came secondhand from darren, full 2 1/2 inch exhaust including headers (wildcats) only has one muffler, sound great at cruise/high revs, but at low revs while accelerating it is F-ing loud, im gonna see if i can scrounge up another muffler to add to it.

Have to agree with the D&T plugs, the make some beatiful
stuff there. I just got a custom made 2.5 inch cat back job (2/3s mandrel bent) with straight through resonator, and it sounds bloody awesome. Nice and throaty and enough
to turn a few heads but not enough to get cops attention.
All there stuff here in Perth is custom made so you do pay a bit more,
but like weve said you get what you pay for. Personally I think Lukeys
arent that great and every man and his dog has one.
All up my 2.5 inch cat back exhaust cost me $490 thats including the
modified flange to bolt my extractors straight on - (new ones coming on soon...) Improved power, sounds mean, chews less juice - money well spent I reckon
