the only reason i dont run it is due to install costs, if you geek it up and do the maths, unless you do a lot of k's and own the car a while its not worth it... if you buy a car with gas though definately worth using it :D

^ That's not how it works. Octane rating has nothing to do with the calorific content (energy) of fuel.

Octane rating is it's protection/resistance against detonation (pinging).

LPG has a higher octane than petrol (~110-114 IIRC), but has less energy than petrol. However, you can make use of that ping resistance by advancing ignition, and raising compression ratio (or more boost) to make better use of it.

Mine will spin off the line on LPG but wont on petrol.... go figure that one out.
Yep mines factory Duel Fuel

i know as a fact that:

* Factory fitted Tickford LPG conversion:
* Including no loss in power.

* Dealer fitted Parnell LPG conversion:
* Some have commented it handles dirty gas better than the Tickford unit.
* Only a small power loss.

http://www.trueblueford.com/Specs_Pages.htm

Also i have heard of some cars running better and stronger on LPG... but no i haven't figured out why thats the case.

my dads old EL had tickford enhanced dual fuel system, and he had to switch it to petrol everytime he wanted to tow somthing. didn't have the power to do it

On my AU which is factory Duel fuel it has the added benifit of having the ECU change maps dependant on which fuel I use. I have more torque down low on LPG and gets off the line real quick but seems to lose it above 4000rpm. On petrol it seems to get more power from 3000rpm and up to redline.

Spins off the line on LPG, doesnt on petrol...

With the $2000 grant cheaper to put on LPG now more than ever. I bought my car already on gas as it was a taxi right from new.

$1700 and it goes pretty good, have spent about $1000 dollars on it over the year I have had it but havent as yet changed any main mechanical parts yet.

She has a few kays on here but I like it when people go WTF.........
