Hey everyone,

got a problem which is really starting to piss me off. I have an AUIII XR6 VCT and when i am slowing down with gears and then get into first and then put foot on the clutch i always get the feling that the car is going to konk out. At night when it happens the dash starts to dim as well as my head lights any ideas. Also first start up takes two cranks in morning. Changed plugs leads everything but still not fixed please help!!!

go get some throttle body cleaner, take you air inlet off and get in there wirth some TB cleaner, you'll be suprised by the amount of crap that comes off, just make sure you dont put too much in there and remember to start the car straight afterward.
Make sure you have a nice clean rag to wipe away the grime you can reach. give it all a good clean, start let it even itself out for a while then repeat.

Then take it for a drive, I'd almost guarantee this will fix your problem

Better go tell just about every mechanic around to stop using it then.

Not say to soak all parts in it, just spray the surface wipe clean.

Do this with the engine running, you will have to hold the revs up a bit to keep the engine going but this is the best way to do it other wise there will be no tb cleaner going through the ics because with the engine off its closed! (either that or just take it off :) )

It will also help clean some carbon off the valves and pistons and oil from the inlet manifold (gets in there through the pcv  ).

Oh btw it will not fk your map sensor as there will be vacume so the cleaner will be sucked straight into the engine and there is no way for it to get up the hose to the map.
