If you know someone thats good with a welder you can always copy pacies. cone-over design on cheap wildcats 21X :wink:

got told today smashing the guts out of the cat is a bad thing guy recons u lose kw anyone know if this is true or not ?

I smashed mine out when i had the EF, i didn't notice any power loss, i think a bit of a power gain actually.

well this guy at an zorst place were got my exstractors recons smashing out the cat results in a 5kw power loss on the dyno and a 10kw loss with an v8 duno if true but i recon anything in the way of flow loses power ????

sounds oppisite to wat ive heard... its illegal to modify the cat i belive....that guy prolly just want to flog ya for a new one...sounds like a sales pitch :)

the only way i could see it causing power loss is if the cat was partially blocked. otherwise the flow would surely increase :?

i guess for him it is probably easier to tell people its a power loss than try to explain that it is illegal, bad for the environment, and only has very small power gains, etc, etc

If I can gain 10wrkw by gutting the cat. I've would of done it already & so would every forum members at a price.
The law would be ramming their probe up your a**... checking emission levels 24/7. lol

I smashed the guts out of my CAT, only because it was broken and rattled. I have since replaced it, but before I did, there was a power gain, but then, the CAT was stuffed. This is the CAT I have on it now, a modified BMW unit.

It was brand new, cost me nothing, (was replaced due to transport damage), and it was easy to make the cones for it, slightly fatter than a falcon one, and it does the job.
