Hey guys.

I want to get a cam for my ED but I've been putting it off due to getting an AU motor.
I'd like to use an E series cam because apparently it's hard to get a aftermarket AU cams and they're not as good anyway. But will the E series cam go in an AU XR head (non VCT)? If not I'll just get an EL XR6 head. Also will AU rocker fit the cam? Or should I use EL rocker gear?

I plan to do some head work on the motor but nothing too pricey.

Cheers.

Okie, you can't fit a e-series cam into a AU motor, I've seen it done, but your rocker gear will need lots of mods to it. or its the other way around I forget it ...
Best thing you can do, is use a AU block and get your ED head reco'd what is your head code? if its a 91AA/91AB they flow the best, if you car is a late ED you prob have the head code 94AA/94AB which is a EF head.
I've seen cars pull great RWKW with AU blocks and E-series heads and a good cam ..

Laticia.

you can put E series rocker gear on an AU, its only rocker geomerty that is different between the 2. pedastal mounting is identical between the 2. I have not messed around with putting AU rocker gear on E series though. Only E series rocker gear onto AU motors

Why don't you just sell the e-series cam and get an AU cam??

There is a few AU cams around, wade does a few grinds to suit the AU's, just not as big a selection as what the e-series have. Gezza makes some good power in his EL with an AU wade cam

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit ILLaViTaR, but while the above popped up, does anyone know what makes the EB2-ED heads flow better than the late ED-EF heads? Is it just bigger ports or something?

Just to let you know wade will do any grind on the AU cams that the e-series have they just call them all different names and dont really advertise them.
