Just finished fitting another motor to my brothers AU falcon. everything is sweet. except hit the key and click. the starter motor clicks and if you keep the ignition turned it keeps clicking like (click..click..click..click) its not just the relay clicking its the actual starter. just wondering if the starter could be misaligned with the flywheel or something? as the starter motor was fine on the other engine (same starter)

Battery sounds flat. I take it thats ok? I know its obvious but you sometimes can miss the basic things.

flat battery, not enought to fire onto the ring gear.

A flat battery can still read 12v, put it under load and see what it is. click click click is a dead giveaway, otherwise it could be the solenoid on the starter is rooted.

My money is on the battery.

alright, still not starting found that theres a small length heavy guage wire that runs from passenger side of block to the same side engine mount one of the end clamps which the bolt goes through is missing so it is hanging loose on one end...must of ripped it when the pulled it out at the wreckers. what is this? is it my problem?
