hey all , i got an ef and it wont start , i can turn the key onto accesories but when i go too crank it nothing happens not a sound , just the little ! light comes up on the dash , the battery is new so i got no idea what it is , any ideas ? thanks

fuel pump had a similair problem with my au.

I think it would be the inhibitor switch (i think thats what its called) on your transmission. The gearbox dosn't think its in park so wont let you start the car. Go under your car from the passenger side and you will see a white plastic thing on your gearbox. spray it with some wd40 and try and give it ago then. Also try and start your car in Neutral. |

if it doesnt crank at all sounds like could be smartlock. smartlock disables the startor motor doesnt it? whats the smartlock light on the dash doing?

its the body control modual , just gave it a smack and it started working again
