hey guys,

I am in the position to purchase this ute for around $2500, it has been written off (i think) it has slid sidways into a tree, the rear end body work is completly stuffed. it only has 60,000k's on it. Is it worth buying, i was gona take the gearbox out and ECU and put it in my fairmont as i am sick of the slusher!
I have to look at the ute a bit better as I only saw it for a few minutes.

I think I could make money off this, or at least get a manual conversion cheep.
It has:
4 new tyres on original rims
LSD
good motor - 60,000k's - runs/ran perfect (dont know if it has been drivin since the crash)
5 speed manual with heavy duty clutch.
interior is perfect
it is red, so it would make a good XR front conversion (for a red falcon)

I can't think of anything else atm, what do you guys think its worth?

I forgot to say, it has pacemaker extractors, a high flow cat, and 2.5" pipe to a single muff.

It has the Au2 brakes, I believe these are twin piston over the s**t singles on the au1.

thanks for replying quick guys, I just have to get my car refinanced now hehe

cheers.

my car has 150,000 on it, would it be better to just change the hole engine and gearbox together... would it matter that engine/ vin codes dont match?

hey guys,

just a couple questions, would the LSD (just the centre) out of this ute fit into my fairmont?

to put the manual in, are the looms on the gearbox the same? and if i use the ecu as well will it be happy?
Is the top gear in the manual higher than the auto(less rpm on highway)

will cruise control work? do i have to put a switch in to disengauge cruise when the clutch goes in?

I am planing to use the:
extractors and cat
front suspension and all the brakes
gearbox and ECU
buttons for steering wheel (fraud quoted 180bucks for these!!)
and tyres.

and hopefully the LSD, if i can.

cheers,
