Just wanted to know, when i took off my pacie headers yesty, there were 2 gaskets behind it, is this necessary ? We obviously fitted the headers back to the engine after the rebuild, but we only put back on what we took off, and when i got them from bro's exhaust in 05, they obviously fitted 2 exhaust manifold gaskets...

So did they do it just to make sure theres no leaks or do you really need 2 ?

just compensating for non even flange faces could of gone to extremes of machining faces and stuff but just easier to go that way with 2 gaskets.

nufin to worry about.

The twin metal gaskets i've seen are joined and made to be that way. They are thin and non-compressible.

I would be concerned about using twin gaskets if they are compressible, because that can lead to warping of the flange. If the flange is already warped such that normal gaskets won't work, only then would i consider a non-standard option.
