ok well im looking at getting my ba xr6 tuned.
ill be using the generic tune on these devices until i save up for a custom tune. just wanted to know the true differences between the Xcal 3 and the sniper tuners. car only has simple mods (typhoon + K&N, full exhaust) i dont really plan on doing any other mods that affect engine performance anytime soon, maybe a under driver one day.
so far the only real differences ive found out is the sniper holds up to 6 tunes, and is about $200 cheaper.
is their going to be any difference in power between these two tuners, i will be eventually getting it custom tuned.

There's one problem with the sniper gear right there. Not a lot of support on the east coast.

Amen. I bought the tuning device about 3 months back. I run windows 7 - 64bit, I haven't been able to install the software and I've rang the guys multiple times, and have no help with it. Can't even get a refund aye. Waste of $550 tbh. Just save for the XCal 3, plug and play. No f**k around.

Use the SCT unit. Give Joe a call at Cresent Motor Sports at Liverpool. He is getting great results with the B series and FG turbo cars, stock or modded.

update :D im now getting the xcal3 for..... $800 with what they call a preloaded generic custom tune (telling the guy what mods i have and he sets up the tune for the car like that) yes its not the same as a custom tune but im saving a s**t load of money and a custom tune wouldn't really give me a significant power advantage over this, and the guy doing the tune knows falcons very well has allot of good feedback and is experienced, it also comes with a blue tooth dongle so i can data log wireless.

generic tune's are just that.....for your own piece of mind take it anywhere you want & get it dynoed check the A/F's & timing using the OBD port makes it easier to do as well.

will do, plus ill be dieing to see what it roughly produces at the treads.
at least using the xcal if i want to get it tuned in the future finding a good tuner in sydney won't be to hard. i rung up the most commonly used shops in sydney, non of them tune using sniper.
