Hey peoples, just wondering if there is any difference between the XF and EA EFI dizzies, i am doing a computer conversion on my VL and have been told i need the internals of the XF/EA dissy to go into my VL dissy, have spoken to a few people about this problem and no one has been able to give me a definate yes they are different or no they are the same.
If they are different what exactly is the difference between the 2.

I know of people running e-series dizzy's in x-series so the do work. I have also heard though that the drive gear is very slightly different and will probably get chewed up within a few months (dont know if that is right or not though - and it probably doesnt make any difference to you).

There are also 2 versions of the EA dizzy for cfi and mpefi. The mpefi outputs a different pulse for cyl 1 so the ecu can batch fire. Not sure which ones the xf's are comparable to.

It is the mpefi that has the thin chopper. They are all the same size on the cfi

Cant really tell from that photo. You need to know if the teeth on the chopper wheel are the same or not.

If the computer conversion on you vl is going to be batch fired, then chances are you will need a rotor with 1 thin tooth.

ok, yeah it is going to be batch fire, does it help any further if i now know that the one i have to use also puts out a hall effect signal.

Have a bit of a read here http://www.kalmaker.com.au/page44.html for more info on what i am doing.
