Take the cap off and ensure your points are still on properly. Ensure that your TFI module is connected properly. Check your coil is plugged in correctly on the dizzy cap and also the coil. If all else fails, your dizzy timing is out. They are not hard to re-time. Remove the dizzy and note where the point for plug 1 is underneath the dizzy cap. Line your points up with that point. I think my old XF had a timing mark on the dizzy but if yours dosent, thats ok. Make sure number 1 cylinder is at TDC on the crank markings and drop your dizzy back in. The teeth on both the cam and dizzy are on an angle so the points will tend to pull off to one side. It will take a bit to line it up properly.

You may need to get a workshop manual to cancel out all of my confusing!

Oh yea, when I pointed out electrics, I was gonna say that plug sounds like the injector plug!

LOL
I got the dizzy out and put it back in right of the dot where it ment to be and ive pluged the TFI moduel in right how i got coil pluged up right and the rest as well YES the piston 1 is top dead center and it pointing to point one or lead one what ever you call it i got it all down tight and pluged up and i try cranking it over and she just not kicking all you can here is the starter motor pushing it and just not sparking

then mates pulled the first plug out and put it on the chassi and man ow man ive never seen a spark plug flash so SLOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! and the flash was gutless as well i had my other car running with jumper leads to lend a had on the battery as well and that didn't even help the spark???

Im guessing coil or TFI moduel SCREWED!!!!!

I got another dizzy(spare efi motor) but the code different but it looks excatly the god darn same except the spare dizzy very grezzy but easy to clean up

my dizy moduel code is
E3EF-12A297-A2A
7B28

and the spare motor one got
E3EF 12A297-A2A
7F26A

ANY IDEA IF THAT WOULD WORK?

or is the problem something completely different

sounds coil/dizzy. try the spare on it. had same prob on a mates cortina 250 xflow. the others "helped" him take the motor out, including butchereing any wires they could, then they proceeded to spray the engine bay and new motor blue. including the wires. i have never seen so much blue!

anyway, we wired it all up corectly in the end, but it wouldn't fire. it cranked fine. new coil and dizzy and it fired straight away!
