not worth it.

get a REAL aftermarket cam such as a wade

well you could do it, but the gain will be unnoticable. the xr's real gain came from the 3.45 gears.

$122 (with exchange) from wade and they can make up a good cam that will gain power but keep things like standard valve springs (if you dont want to spend lots).

Forgive my idiocy, but 3.45 diff gears, timing gears or trans ratio? :S

i was saying that the XR's go better than the base models not due to cam changes, but due to the diff gears.

I agree with that school of thought.

the XR cam made a little more power but that is coupled with the higher fuel pres regs and the slightly larger ports in the head as well.. cam only will be minimal.

YEP... but also the 3.45lsd diff gears gave it that off the line accleration boost.
