privateers? If i were a cabbie id rather drive an xr6 then a pov pack car, think of the hours they spend in the car, would u really wana spend that amount of time in a 94 vr commodore?

I think the XR6 taxis were handed out to a few to see how well they handled after excessive usage and high milage? I think that's why they were first put out there. Just to test it's reliability and such...I remember reading this on here I think.

I've seen plenty around in the city of Melbourne and at the Airport.

phong =P~

In QLD, the maximum age limit for a taxi is 6 yrs, after that, get another one.
When I was in WA in 89, there was a guy in Albany that had a Holden Brougham (69 model) as a cab from new and was still using it then. It was black.

There used to be a white EL XR8 taxi here a few years back. Was just awesome!

I tell ya, you used to pray to get that thing after a huge night out on the town. :D
