does anyone know if the 2003 XR6 Turbo is compliant with FMVSS standards here in the US?

yeah but they hate import cars there, while it may be ompliant, it would cost a fortune, left hook conversion, compliance still needs to be achived and taxes and duty and stuff.

actually right hand drive is legal as long as there is not an american version of the car that is RH drive sold already here. I've looked and seems that you just have to have the safety requirements for side impact, front impact, rear impact, safety harnesses,(airbags and such), and child restraint.
then i should be good to go. I need to check on getting it registered and all that junk though.

did get a quote yesterday for shipping. It was from miami to Sydney, but i think the other way around should be priced similiar. It was $2075 US. which is about $2500 Aus. right? and then an extra $400 for insurance.
They estimated 45 days for shipping as well. its a long journey by boat.

I won't really mess with it much. maybe Typhoon grilles, or a new wheel/tire combo. Thats it for looks. My buds gonna help me get her moving quick. Hes great with turbos.

thats the great thing about the T, pritty much like a skyline r34. just add more fuel and boost, engine should cope with it. and will look stock to the eye. the reason i want to know what people think over there is cause i dont think very highly of yank cars (sorry just my personal view, no offence intended) so i want to know what they think of what i consider a hot looking and powerful car

awesome stuff there!

If they allow that huge 250 on the road, they'd have to allow the XR6turbo, you'd think.
