BA into e-series
This is somewhat of a grey area as few have attempted this mod to date. It seems to be generally agreed that the engine mounts will match up to those of earlier series cars, and that similar sump modifications are required as AU engines. Also, the larger DOHC rocker cover on the BA engines will not fit under the bonnet so bonnet modifications are required. The engine management is also significantly different, and due to its complexity it looks troublesome to retrofit the BA ECU and looms into earlier cars. Aftermarket engine management looks like the most favorable option. Shouldnt be considered unless you have lots of time, skill or $.

curtousy of the 16 retro fit sticky above....

there's been:

JETXR - EL XR6 that got it in, using a Wolf 3D.. people have said he has disconnected the DVCT and others said he hasnt... so nobody knows

Dansedgli - dans been working on this for a while, he's got an install thread on here, he's just had 3 headgasket problems on his 3 seperate BA motors.

and then there's me (if i can be included)... im starting my install after next saturday (i wanna dirtbike haha)... im going to be using the XTC EMS and sprocket modifications to run the DVCT... since im changing gearbox (ive got a T56) i will need a new tailshaft most likey

what ive heard is that the BA motors have an oil pump at the front of the sump... so the "cut a part out and reweld it" like on the AUs may not work... ill check when i get the sump off
