Just got my car yellow stickered! not happy!

just wondering what is the best way to go about getting it over the pits withc out it becoming a very expensive exercise.
got the sticker because i had a crack in the windscreen, a tail light was out (busted same night as getting stciker) excessive oil on motor, and a rip in my driver's seat. what is the best place / most lenient pits to go to?

I have thermo fans on the car (where already on there when i bought it) and i've got door pods (aslo on there when i bought it) which are pretty obnoctious, and some one busted my back window off the track(it electric) and my abs dosent work (just taken out the relay under colant bottle so the warning light doesn't come on)

are they going to get me for everything i've got? It's in WA as well. so any advice would be good.

Cheers.

fix the windsreen, replace bulb in tail light, buy some cheap seat covers and degrease your motor.

just fix the things that need fixing.

Re the seat. I know a bloke in Osborne Park (Motor Trimmer on the eastern side of Frobisher Street) has some cloth for the EB XR's.

Get your seat fixed. If it is the bolster on the drivers seat which it generally is, it will cost you about $100 to get it fixed and in my opinion it is definately worth it!

nah didn't piss em off, i thnk they just wanted to yellow sticker it they had decided that were going to do it before they found things to do it for.

i'm going to fix it up, just hope they dont find a whole lot more to do me for.

the car is mech sound, just interiour is getting a little shabby cause it's 13 year old car.

What sports seats legal? and on of the bolts on the seats (to bolt it to the ground) has been stripped, and idea of have to get em out? do i have to drill them out?

how thorough is the check? do they jsut check waht is written down or do they do every thing, like emmission, check the faults in ecu ect?

Sorry, I can't get the address for you. THe name of the business escapes me too.

He is on the eastern side of Frobisher Street in Ossie Park (F'way side) about half way between Scarb Bch Rd and the southern most round about.

Sorry can't be more specific than that! He is tucked away at the back of an industrial unit, so if you are looking for him keep an eye out for the sign.

for a cheap easy way as long as the rip has not being put on the work order get some seat covers :)

i have a few yellows :(

get thos e cracks fixed asap some insurance companys allow 1 free windscreen per year

or if the crack is small enough u can get it fixed without a new windscreen

make sure all lights work, tyres are above the low wear indicator, seat belts work ie retract and click in
and the inertia bit works ( ie pull hard/fast and the seatbelt dont extract )

suspension wise have a gander underneath and make sure your wheel bearings are tight ( yup they check them for wear )
no broken steering boots

degrease the engine a hr or so BEFORE you go to the pits

no play in steering wheel, brake fluid is good etc and brakes work they do take it for a drive
if u have extractors u will need a permit they can give that to u at the pits $40 iirc

ohh go the welshpool first up :)

one of the bolts in my seat is buggered, i cant take it out cause it's been stripped, any idea of a good way to deal with this? cause if i cant get the seat out i'm pretty much stuffed. but i guess i'll still get the work order for a couple of months to find a cure...

you still have to go over the pits
the work order will have a date on it
make sure u go over before that date AND fix as many items as u ca
ie the windscrenn as u have done and the oil on engine
then tell them u have lost ya job or some s**t and to give u a month or so to get the rest fixed

a angle grinder for a seat bolt? good luck

is the head of the bolt striped? or the thread?

if it is the head get a hacksaw or dremel tool and cut a slot/s into the head of the bolt and remove it that way
