90 if i manually hold it there, in the 6cyl i wouldnt go over 80ish as its screaming its tits off - i dont like doing it really, just once or twice to see lol.
In the 8 once you change into 2nd gear, second later your at 110 easy, love the fkn 1st - 2nd gear change, shoves you in the back!
2nd gear climbs to about 140ish, never really watched..

Yet to hit the rev limiter unlike the 6cyl.

I get about 60 in 1st and 100 in 2nd out of my manual EF, shifting just before the bounce (perfect shift for the NFS fans :P )

Interceptor, no offense but what sort of s**t v8 gets left behind by an auto XF ?!

my XF will hit 83, but thats a couple of bars into redline territory (found out while proving to a holden V8 driving friend that he cant drive for s**t..... he really didnt appreciate being left by an XF.....)

fawk your xf hits 83.. thats morecore for an XF , is that like a differnt type of gearbox? or the stock ones?

stock as a bloody rock..... 2.77:1 diff, highway spec.... lol

that said, i just wish it didnt run outta puff at 160...... tho i think before i try pushing it any further i should get my tailshaft balanced..... to say it was vibrating is an understatement

110 in first (on LPG) but i didn't like the noise the enigine was making too much :o oh and it does help, if u are on LPG and doing manual gear changes, remember to ACTUALLY change the gears

Interesting, I had mine around 115/120 on lpg. was on the freeway and I planted it for an overtake and it shot to first for some reason.
Would have been just short of the rev limiter I think.

um i THINK it might have dropped down to 2nd as i am pretty sure the car would not have dropped to 1 at that speed on its own, i.e. in D.

To give ya an idea, the needle was past the last number and bouncing

Nah it wasnt 2nd I know that for sure. Its the only time its dropped to 1st in those conditions that I can remember.. took me by suprise as it sounded like the engine was about to jump out of its bay.

I had a VTII auto work car, you can't really manual change in those, select first, and when it hits around 70kms it changes up, not like a Falcon which will sit on the rev limiter until you change to second.

I got a VZ at work back in October, (still the same 4spd slushbox) they play the same as the VT/VX/VY.

Dunno if the new 5sp auto doesnt' hold. But I guess if it were in 'sports mode' you'd want it to hold gears. But I don't know. Only got an Acclaim, not a SV6.
