7 inch pioneer indash head unit/ dvd player. anyone installed on in there ef/ el? im looking to do it. do u nedd to drop it into the lower din? i had standard sound system. before adding a pioneer detachable face.? any one done it?

if u were in vic id install it for u :D they are easy to do, its a single din player and u can mount in either im pretty sure. take the player out n put the screen in, u shudnt have a drama :D if u do let me know!

yeah its just i dont think the screen will fully open because of the rolled lip on the dash above it

THats right, you need to mount them in the lower DIN position. It's easy to turn a single din facia into a dou ble din with a hacksaw, spare blade and file.

yeah ive got the pioneer AVH-P7650DVD in my car.... i had the double din in my factory so when i took it out i put the deck in the top half it hit the top lip but it opens up pretty much all the way anywaz... and look awesome!
great deck dude good choice!

Sorry for the bit of threadmining, I have been meaning to get pics to post up for you. I have a 6.5" pioneer in the dash, and have found that mine fully opens in both slots 8-)
It is better to have it in the lower slot tho, as in the higher slot you lose the main A/C vents when the screen is out. I Normally have mine in the lower DIN, but I mock fitted it into the upper DIN, just for the pic. Sorry about the quality. I purposely put my phone on low res, but you can see my point. Just buy a DIN pocket from autobarn to fill the hole
