Oddly enough, yellow is usually 12v power and red is ignition.
Are any wires thicker than the others, IE black/yellow?

Didn't it come with instructions?
Or can't you ask the person you bought it off?

I'd say you have it pretty much right but I don't have monitors like that one.

i pm'd the dude but i think hes lost the book so i went to plan B lol.

all the wires r the same size and have no markings.

i assummed that the red was the 12v constant cause it passes thru a little box with the negative(black) and it has a fuse in it and a couple of other electronic doovas.
?

yellow = 12v power
green = reverse lights (this was blue on mine) - used in conjunction with reversing cameras
black = earth
red = ignition power

sounds like the ignition wire is incorrect then. to test this, put your ignition and permanent positives to the same line - this way you will confirm if the unit works!

maybe the other wire is a handbrake switch then. try earthing that out - i'm only going on how i installed my screen!

yea that sounds right...if the clock is coming on, it obviously has power..but since the handbrake wire isn't earthed, it wont turn the screen on for obvious safety reasons...
