for 99 bucks it is disposable
i paid 230 for my xplod mp3 unit, has remote control and EQ7 or whatever they call it. it's a pretty good unit in my eyes, particularly for the price.

My Sony xplod is still going strong. One of those front slide ones, so has a nice big display with a grand total of 2 different colourssss, lol. One of the few black and good looking units I could find.

If you want good audio, HU is the one place I wouldn't skimp.
Sony don't have a good rep for car audio.

i had a Sony Explod Head Unit. It had the motion blade like till lind's. It came with the car but they payed $260 for it. I hated it because of the motion blade and the fact it didnt have MP3. When i got the new Kenwood KDC 4029 the sound quality went right up. I got a Sony Elpod sub but im going to replace it with a pioneer or kenwood only because its old and id rather a brand like pioneer or kenwood

For $100 you cant really go wrong. But yeah, if you're thinking of ever running an amp, for speakers or a sub, have a look at JB Hi-Fi or some place like that and find a nice Pioneer, etc head unit on sale for only as couple of hunge. If you can strecth the budget that far of course.
But for $100 you cant go wrong...
