I was wondering if adding another cigarette lighter was as simple as splicing into the original one and running it off that or does it need to be fused etc.?

run it off the same 1. If the fuse blows whilst both lighters are being used, then you you will have to put in your own separately fused wire feed.

depends on what u are planning on plugging into it, - multiple phone chargers etc. - no problem. but if -say two 150W spotlights or such then u would definitely need separate circuit, fuse, wiring, etc.
