Hey dude nice install....howd you find 8x 12"s perform as apposed to say 2 ... entered in any sound comps ? ... If so what SPL reading have u scored so far or is this nmore just for show?

Well a bit more of an update for you all.. I am currently running 1 amp (1500wrms).. loosely mounted behind seats running of standard battery and alternator.. The amp is running at 1 ohm.. doesn't even get hot.. only mildly warm..
I have only had the gear in for 1 week so i haven't metered the thing yet.. as long as i crack 140db i will be happy.. Stage 2 is: 2nd 1500wrms amp and 4ch 800wrms amp.. new parcel shelf mount amps 4 batteries 4 farad of capacitors for speaker amp and headunit and screens.. Stage 3 is: Custom body kit.. front bar done.. still sourcing rear bar and side skirts.. Stage 4 is: Some more ICE.. More screens, neons, and other trick bits.. Custom dash with integrated 7.8" screen.. Custom door trims.. Rear seat retrim.. Stage 5 is: Turbo and motor rebuild.. I am aiming to have everything except stage 5 done by febuary.. but yer its looking like a i wont have much time as i have been asked to do a few custom installs... Cheers, Nik |

BE incredibly underpowered...but yeh second will certainly assist...well install so far looks good mate stage 4 ICE hehe drugs wont help dude  .....all up sounds like a nice master plan be good to see it all finito
4 batts is i spose fair enough but with only a small number of amps you wont need to go that extreme....not like you have 6 or 8 monos stacked along with speaker amps etc....and take it u meant caps for the 2x monos not the speaker amps.....and 4x ? for individual caps or 4 farad worth ??? dont think they come with that size capacitence - lemme know ya plans for that

that is insane - but the install is pretty sweet - do they even run properly with one amp running them - i would have to have atleast 4 mono blocks running them then it would make some noise!!

Underpowered i know.. Trust me if you saw the batteries you would understand why i am going with 4 of them.. And i am running 2 x 2 Farad capacitors.. one the speaker amp and one on the headunit/ICE.. I am running the caps there for a reason.. Capacitors on sub amps when the batteries are within 30cm is a waste of time and money.. where as by running the caps on the speaker amp and headunit/ICE will stabilise the voltage going into these thus improving their performance and stopping the headunit/ ICE from dimming with the bass.. 1500wrms + 1500wrms + 760wrms = 3760wrms or 3.8kwrms..
