i recon i rushed a bit too, just got a door trim from the wreckers and transplanted the speaker grill.

get the beest headunit you can and you will not have to upgrade and the flexability for tuning purposes is definately worth it,

As far as speakers go alpine and pioneer are both fine.

Definately try and save to get the best front stage you can afford. If you love the alpines then save for the Type R at least.
