Hi guys I just installed a new stezza set up yesterday. It sounds great but theres still more to be done. Anyways since installing everything im starting to get static interferance when ever my headlights are on and a wistling sound when I accellarate. Is this due to having a bad Earth for my Amp?

Thanks for any help

cheers, Nathan

can be the earth connection but most likely that your RCAs are too close to your power or earth cables..more likey the power cabling....your RCAs/signal wires are being induced with interference from the alternator...this is where the whine noise comes from...and since it feeds your accessories it gets worse or more "noise" induced when u power on accessories such as headlights n so forth...

Make sure your RCAs are kept away from power and earth cables...and that your earth points are filed back and the terminal has good solid clean contact.

If you are running a non-supressed coil or sparkplug lead you can hear interference in the sound system.

Also. Where you have earthed your amp in the boot. make sure u use some sandpaper or something on the metal to be earthed before hand. Paint is a connections worst friend

thats it before mouting any eart connection always ensure its filed back then sand so the terminal can have the best possible clean contact

Thanks guys your legeneds. That sound was giving me the s**t.

I'll try and move the RCA leads like you said Kev. Any idea's how to get them away from main power leads ect?!

My Earth for the amp is in the boot also. And I just bolted it over the paint. Ill see how I go with all that stuff you said to do and let you know.

Thanks again guys :D

cheers Nathan

run the rcas down the center with speaker cables up one side n power cables down the other, that way everything is seperate. and yes u must file ur boot for a good contact, i had s**t rca's so i splurged out and bought dls ultimates, and thus, noise gone :D

yeh, that will be fine.

i usually go power down right (drivers) side and RCA's down the left (passenger) side.

the remote wire shouldnt have any interferences, its only a very low current wire.

I was having the same problem with the buzzing but only in the speakers hooked up to the smaller amp. I had relied on the screws holding the aluminium backing as an earth. Put a heavy earth strap to the body tonight and all is good 8-) so there is a lot to be said for decent earths!

now for the box for the sub........................... :)

This buzzing is doing my head in now. I run the RCA leads on the left hand side of the car away from the 12v line but now the interferance is worse!

Can anyone recomend the best spot to place my Earth to?

Im going insane! lol

cheers, Nathan
