So you post 2 threads the same?.... :?

The best thing to do is to buy spacers so you can fit 6" speakers in there. 6" Splits up the front anyways.
What is your budget etc.

Lol about the 2nd post, I didn't think it worked or something.

Well I'll spend 200 or nere for a pair, I was looking at type s 6" splits but I wasn't sure if I could fit them. Could I also do the same speakers in the back or should I need something more bass ?

Don't worry about Rears at this stage, just run fronts and spend some money there.
Then do a nice sub in the boot for the bass.

Type S arnt the best no. They are fine but i think you should go to your local audio shop with a cd and listen to some speakers in your price range.

Any speaker will sound better on an Amp purely because the sound will be cleaner. Make sure to look at RMS and not total watts. Total watts are useless in comparing anything besides who's penis is bigger...

Each set of splits will have different sound quality. Some will have better treble and others better mid bass. It really depends on what you like to listen to.

Been to auto barn today sinc it's the only good audio place up in orange where I'm working all week for months. I've decided to get type s splits for the front modifying the door panel and inserting the tweeters to the top of the door. Than taking of interior n the parcel shelf to grind and fit type s 6 x 9. 3 ways for a bit of bass..... Than eventual getting an amp to run them from my stock head unit and to a smaller slim line sub at the edge of the back seats between the spare tyre ( sorta like a shelf area. Cooool beanns. And an amp before that to run he speakers also: D

1000$ later I shall be a happy man

You are spending a 1000 bucks on that?!

This isnt worth the effort let alone it is illegal to modify a parcel shelf as it is structural.

For a grand get some better front speakers and get a good sub. Be better than the 6X9's

Amped with something cheap like this
http://www.ryda.com.au/Kenwood-KAC-M525-2-Channel-Amplifier-p/kacm525.htm
And this with an amp/sub box with the rest of the cash
http://www.ryda.com.au/Boston-G212-4-12-Subwoofer-p/g2124.htm

If you want really good advice http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums/index.php? this site has a lot of people who listen to a lot more gear than I could dream of.

My recommendations was from the one store etc using more common brands.

This, or to keep things easy, there's some good 5x7's made. Look at Hertz, and Boston Acoustics for example. You'll need to go to a real car audio shop, your strathfield, JB, autobahn, supercheap etc. will look at you funny if you ask them, they only carry regular crap.

I've got the Hertz HCX-570 running midbass duties (as part of a 4-way system) in my GT-P.

HCX-570
MD-500
HT-25
HT-20R

and a ML3000 sub.

The 570's are a full range, 2-way coaxial, and are pretty darn good by themselves, but I highly recommend getting a pair of the HT25 tweeters at least so you can better position the more directional sound (higher frequencies).

There are also 2 other choices you have here. One is basically a 5 1/2" split mounted in a 5x7 plate that will fit straight in, http://www.ryda.com.au/Boston-SR80-5x7-Coaxial-Speaker-p/sr80.htm

or a pair of 5x7 splits (can be found cheaper)

don't just get coaxial speakers if your only going to upgrade them with better tweeters in a better position.

Not really a problem, you can either permanently disable the coaxial bit (they'll be a pair of wires heading up into it from the middle of the magnet structure - cut them), or use a proper passive or active crossover to filter it out.

Yes but that defeats the point.

Not at all. If you decide that the coaxial format isn't working for you, you can replace the tweeter part with an external one, gaining better staging, and high frequency response.
