Hey guys, parents want to put a security system into my bro's new EA Spac. Now which would be the best value for money and reliable one for it? It has no smart lock or central locking or anything, so it needs it all. Hit me with some alarms and where they are available from. Thanks guys.

NO, bad bad bad na fairlane, very bad na fairlane, pre smartlock is the best :D want to know why? REMOTE START, it conflicts with smartlock, so pre smartlock rocks :D just get a descent security system, mesh it into the central locking, and there u have it, most do one or 2 point imm. keyless entry, and a host of other things, and if you do get a remote start alarm you wont have the problem most ppl have of by passing smartlock :D

I have gone with Clifford after having Code alarm and i have Viper on Lisa's car.

The clifford alarm is awesome and i have 12 functions that can be operated from the remote + heaps of alarm security features.

Definately worth considering, although not sure on your budget? Mine was around $2,800 + you still have to get someone to install it (unless your patient)

You can still run remote start, with smartlock. There are ways around it.
Just be advised, with alarms though its not just simple as one or two point immobilisation... it has to be installed to comply with certain guidelines, else insurance companies can refuse to pay a claim. You will also find that is the case with remote start.

If you want a good alarm at a good price, the Jaycar "Shadow" Immobiliser kit and the alarm add on pack are good, 3 points of immobilisation, all black wiring (nobody can decipher that, wires are numbered on the ends, you get the wire, connect, take tag off, shes the same as the other wires) only thing is you wanted the central locking, could try a Jaycar central locking kit, bout 90 bucks or so, I think that this will come to about 300ish, but a really good alarm, it's got shock sensor and all that stuff to pretect your car, only a suggestion as i've had some experience selling/not having them refunded the next day. (Got a mate running the Shadow kit too.)

go a good viper alarm, a pager one at maby 600 ish would be perfect as the alarm pages the keypad when there is an intrusion. and yea aaron i still like your code alarm but have yet to hook up the aux o/p's (all 5 of them act) but its a very ncie alarm, and i know u can run remote start and smartlock but u gotta bypass smartlock :D
