^^^ fighting a losing battle....you obviously got lucky and scored a product that was decent, but i can tell you that their quality control (if there is any :D) is way below standard.....one of my mates had their speakers and another had an amp n they both met untimely deaths

have to admit, for the $50 u probably pay for a "1000W" amp it may be worth it tho

efbignik... Why are you defending Boss Audio? No one is saying yours is sh*t. They are saying they've had bad experiences and it has been sh*t.

Do what I said and do a search on Car Audio Australia... Or even some other forums, like Pulsar.org, Street Commdores, Just Commodores, everyone knows it's below average gear.

i bought a boss amp, 2.5-3 years ago and still pumps hard. i admit it dosnt go as hard as uppclass brands, but they are still good and pump out desent LEGAL levels.

it has run my 12 inch JBL sub for the entire time, aswell as being hooked up to my home stereo for some fun, and its now in my gf's pulsar and it vibrates her car quite well.

over all i wouldnt go boss again as i have seen that jaycar is cheaper and gives more power then boss.

also i dont like the look of the boss subs, i like the soft looking woofers, none of this plastic sony crap.

id never touch sony EVER!!!

Hehe, I was looking at some junk online, and I know very little about car audio, but I have come up with some nice (looking) kit. Some of the specs aren't as good as you can get, but I reckon it'd still be good.

Quote:
JVC CD Receiver with MP3 compatability
KD-G325

JBL GTO1201.1 II
1200-Watt Class D Subwoofer Amplifier

JBL GTO1004D
10" (250mm) Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer
10" (250mm) Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer with Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils

JBL GTO426
4" 2-way loudspeaker
4" 2-way loudspeaker with Plus One cone technology and Kaladex tweeter.

JBL GTO626
6-1/2" Two-way
6-1/2" 2-way loudspeaker with Plus One cone technology and Kaladex tweeter.

I would look at Boss, but the Document on here says not to... JBL isn't mentioned, but I know how good their stuff sounds. (Other stuff anyway)

Skidder, do you know of Andrew Harper (73ESN Corolla) he got a warning for his stereo you have to be able to hear someone speaking nrmally from the passengers window. also do you know Chris Heran (2001 BMW 318i) with the huge OA sound system

you will get what you pay for, don't ever expect to get power figures they put on the box, it is more often their model number than a power output figure.

if you got a more expensive amp and hooked up to your subs you will hear a very different sound, more clear and higher output.

but good for you for putting something together on a budget.
