My car was broken into tonight. And the 2 din stereo was stolen. They ruined that area of the dash getting it out. They got in by breaking the quarter part of the rear window, and reaching in they opened the door, just like that!
It happened at work, within an hour of having last seen it. Frigging kicking myself, I should have had the child locks on. But something tells me they were getting it no matter what.
I'm with Shannon's. I'll never see a penny for that system now will I?

Most insurance companies wont cover stereo gear, although some will cover up to around $500. Probably not worth going through insurance. I know it sux bit time. When I was living in melbourne, same thing happened to me with my old fairlane. They took the head unit, remote, 3 amps, 2 autometer guages and some other stuff, happened right out side my house one night. Wife gets up in the morning, to find my boot wide open.

Most do, even if you haven't listed an aftermaket Stereo a Ford one will be worth probably more.. A friend of mine had her 4 Runner broken into & CD Player taken, she didn't have it listed on her insurance but she got $500 for the Genuine Toyota Tape Player which should of been in it!

damn that sucks man :(

l;ike most said $500-$750 is the norm for an unlisted car stezza

now what you COULD do

go and buy a new stezza today not install it
call up inusrance get it listed on policy
in 2 weeks report what has happened....

really depends on how much your stezza is worth/ insurance excess etc and that rear 1/4 panel is a fugging b**ch to replace

again soz to hear man

Shannons will cover you're stereo if you have it listed on the policy. I've got mine covered.

Mines not on the policy. Not even the the last stereo I had in there which I swear I remember telling them about. It does say personal items up to $400 but it doesn't cover it. I'm over the who friggin thing. Not putting another screen in this car. It will be a nice deck with removal head from now on.

I've got a fairly nice setup with speakers and amp. It has a pretty good sound so I'm thinking of going that Blue Tooth Pioneer with the OL screen, this thing is around $900 with 24-bit and Burr Brown DAC's. Face is removable, I don't think I need a t.v. at this stage anymore. At least not until I get my hands on a BA or BF Fairmont Ghia in the near future, and in saying that, theres a lot to be said for good s**t thats actually built into the dash like the new Fords.

I'll survive. Only material things, I've still got the car.
Next time I'll be doing things better.
