my mate has a kicker solo-X 18" sub in a corolla an that does 162db. i think the 18" soloX subs are 10,000watt (5,000rms) but hes only running it of 1500wrms

kicker dont make 15" solo x. they make 10" 12" and 18" solx x which are their best subs.... dont know why they dont make 15's in solo x but they make 8, 10, 12, and 15 in L7 which are the shiney ones which i run still one of the best subs out there

Hmm, i think you should take these 160db+ claims with a grain of salt because personally i think it is a little hard to believe. Have a look at the listings for the aussie records and unless your friends are on the list then i wouldn't be taking their word as gospel.

Apologies if what they are saying is true, they may have had their systems tested on the old meters which read 4db higher, which in that case I MAY believe it, but even then anything 160db+ is where people start pouring concrete into their door trims lol
