At the moment I use a 3.5mm headphone lead to run the ipod in the car stereo using the aux input.

My problem is that I would like to run a car charger as well, and they use the dock connector for the ipod.

My question is......how difficult would it be, using the dock connector that the charger will use, to pick up an audio out signal from that cable? Sounds confusing?

Essentially I want a cable that does both the charging and provides the audio signal into a 3.5mm jack using the dock connector.

It's only for simplification and to keep things tidy. I don't like cables running everywhere around the place.

Anyone know of a product, or have an idea if it would be possible to make something up?

Try Jaycar or Tandy or similar, if they don't have no one probably does...
