hey all, did the factory premium sound rear speakers on ghias and LTDs have the pioneer badge on them? i noticed on some cars with premo sound the rears look like they have a different cover
 another little detail that will bug me if i don't get an answer  thanks.

well, ive seen lower models of the stereo have the pioneer grills, but my EFII Ghia doesn't have the pioneer grills and it is the full premium system, i think it is basically the randomness of ford in that era.

Premium sound (just Ghia basically) got the different grills. I have the funny ones in my Ghia.
A plain Fairmont, GLI or whatever has the pioneer branded ones. |

I disagree. My 96 EFII Ghia had the Pioneer rear speakers, as they are now in my ED.

yeah i saw some at the wrecker, and i thought they were replaced. but there's a dood on ebay selling a premo setup with the same speakers (no badge) so the next day i had to leave work early just to grab them

i just compared the premo speaker with a normal fairmont speaker and the premo one has a bigger magnet and its heavier and sounds louder too. so its a totally different speaker and not just the grille.

which one are you talking about exactly, the one without the badge has the large magnet???

yeah the one without the pioneer badge has a bigger magnet. it hangs lower than the pioneer speaker too.

Yeah no badge, slightly better speaker 2 way.
My base model fairmont had no premo sound just fairmont level, eg stacker etc., with the better rear speakers. My gli had pioneer grills and just standard dodgy dual cone pioneer speakers. Not sure if the ghia was different again. and Ive seen the pioneer grills on fairmonts etc. despite the high spec rear speaker. Nearly like if you were lucky you got the badgeless grills and fairmont above got 2 way high spec rear speakers.
