Should be .... mine is.
bloody thing rattles in the wind when it is up too.
Now that I have a Pioneer headunit it ... it stays up all of the time when the car is on too.

Might take the time to look at it when i have the wheel off next and see if i can secure it a little better.

Any idea where to get a half height switch from????
I hardly listen to radio anyway.

I had been told with the Pioneer H/U's that the antenna stays up regardless ... I didn't think you could change it.

You can get the switch from Ford.

It just so happens to be your lucky day though. I brought one. I was going to put it in my car. But can't be bothered. Just gonna stay with the fixed height aerial.

Heres an article about it: http://www.aufalcon.com/Tech/techant.htm

Just reading the tech doco .... would my BEM be the same ... I have the XLS ute though ... no XR ... but has all the power option ... just a lower spec cluster (hence me thinking I have a lower spec BEM as well).

Would it still work with a low-spec BEM?

I dont think so. You will need to wire up some sort of relay with the switch to the aerial. (Thats if you have a low-series BEM)
