help help help my stock tape player in my ford au series 1 i was getting some tel message so i dissconected it form the battrey and it asked for a code so i just was quesing and now it comes up with err err err flashing is there away to get back to where you enter the code ?

you just have to leaave it on. it will come back when its ready. i think it might be about half an hour

the owners manual is missing i am getting my sis to go to the place where i got the car from see if they have the code

s**t ive done this a few times in the cab
when u put in the wrong code the unit has to reset itself and for every incorrect entry the reset time increases. First incorrect entry costs you about 45min and every addition entry another 15min. if ur getting an error msg then you have maxed out the timer...if your lucky leave it till the code msg comes up again (take 3-5hrs) or if youve done this repeatedly then you have to go to a ford dealler to reset the whole thing which is pretty enduring on the hip pocket. |

ring up FMS audio
get teh serial number off the back of the deck and your vehicle chassis number they should ba able to gie u the code and then write it down somewere

I don't think FMS even exists anymore Frank? you wil need to ring ford for the code. but from what I have read in the past some might give it to you for free over the phone, some might request you turn up in person and some might charge you for it....

after you take the 2 screws out the ash tray is there any more u have to do to take the cover that goes around tape player i tryed pulling but it wouldnt come off so i think there be more screws any ideas ?

its clipped in to the top. you have to lift it up and ease it out.
most dealers will charge you for the code, and wont do it with out proof of ownership

well they did about 4 months ago when i called em 
emailed the details across to a guy called SADI <-- whack name!! he then emailed me back with the code
