I am looking at simplifying my Audio setup. Has anyone used a full range class D amp? What is the quality like? Would you recommend one.
I am looking at buying a Jaycar amp. Would this be a decent amp, for the cost

Simplifying you audio setup yeah right more doof doof

Not having purchased amps from Jaycar but other products the quality of the products are very good. The car amps tend to receive great results when compared to other brands. :D

The amp should be decent at that cost and it backed by a 1 year warranty.

Specifications not listed on site are:
Input sensitivity 200mV -5V
Bass boost 0-18dB @50Hz
Phase shift N/A
Pass thru RCA yes
The above is from the Jaycar 2009 Catalogue

I suggest you go to a Jaycar store and see/hear if possible what the output sounds like from the amp also ask them questions to as they are selling the product.

Hope this helps

I put one of the 4 channel ones of these into my BF when I got it. Awesome amount of power from a unit so small (that unit is 10mm wider and longer but same height as the factory BF sub amp). So they are quite tiny. And I don't think you will find something as good for the price.

I can't complain with mine, was worth every cent. I suppose if you are looking for competition type equipement, this isn't for you. But for general value, quality and output, its hard to beat!

I can also get these things cheaper than RRP. Maybe upto $100 off RRP, even more if you order in mulitples, if its of any interest!

Alpines PDX range are all class D... and they sound pretty good....

as an added benefit of class D, they use less power for their wattage due to the fast switching, also they need less cooling because less power is translated to heat.
