got my new pioneer 9850BT and its s**t hot. the sound quality s**t all over my old 7650 which i thoght sounded good compared to the kenwood that i had beofre that. i just had to post it. now that i have that over with im goign to bed.


ill post some pics of it installed tomorrow

Yes the volts and tacho gauge WORK! dunno how the tacho works but it does must get pulses through the power ???

the sound quality is really good, i never changed any amp settings and it seems to play louder of this deck than my old one and that retailed at the same price 3 years ago

looks shmick mate.

btw, tacho works by the alternator is producing AC power which is converted, but it still has little surges running through the system, hence can tell rpm! its easy okay! :lol:

that stez looks sweet.
i want one!
btw - with the tacho i would have thought it works from when the spark crosses the gap and gets grounded.
it would pick that up as small spikes that a multimeter won't capture (but an oscilloscope will).
if it were alternator controlled, it would have to have input parameters so it could be changed. there would be different altrnator speeds so therefore it probably isn't alternator controlled.

to get the rpm accurate ya have to calibarate it ya rev the car to 4 grand and hold it there and then hit calibarate.

in that case, it will probably be alternator, not spark.
i just 'assumed' it didnt need calibration.
again, nice stereo mate.

nah doesnt have power antenna dunno why though. and yeah it has aux in using pbus or 3.5m plug
