Hi
I've just finished installing a Media Head Unit into my BA Falcon 3 seater ute, it's been a working progress over a couple of years.
Very happy with the result, I have 3 amps 6 speakers and 4 tweeters.
Head unit Pioneer MVH-565BT
Sub 12 inch Option Audio Slim Box (fits behind passenger seat)
6 inch Kenwood dual mags splits in door (not the ones on the outside of the door cards)
6.5 inch Alpine splits and 9x6 Kickers in B pillar
2 channel Kenwood amp (runs door speakers)
4 channel Option Audio amp (runs B pillar speakers)
Kenwood Mono Block (12 sub)

I`m posting this to show people like myself that don't mind playing around with their vehicles and like their music that anything possible.
Please note that I still have to tidy up the wires (next project)
Swapped steering wheel to XR6 (added cruise control)
Roof mounted sunglass holder
Fairlane Analog clock
Added instrument decal from Ford Territory

Hey mate

Glad to see somebody else putting a new head unit in a bench seat! Spent hours digging all over the internet and couldn't find any mention of anyone doing it.
What fascia kit are you using there, and where from/price?
I'm doing my install at the moment, but I've had to cut out pieces of the lower dash to fit the universal mounting box in, and it looks like crap. Think I'll pick up another part of that trim from a wreckers and use what ever kit you've got there, as it looks real clean and neat.

I was tempted to add some 6x9's in those rear quarter panels, but it just seemed like a bit much work and reading online a majority of people didn't think rear fill was worth much in a sound quality build.

Cheers,
MAK777

Hi MAK777

Yes I had to cut out where the ashtray was it was very fiddly, and I was a bit nervous about doing it, not a 5 minute job.

Fascia...... if you go to eBay you can find them there FORD BA BF FALCON TERRITORY CAR DASH STEREO FASCIA
However I got my from Auto Barn it was only about $25.

In reference to the speakers in the B pillar, it really fills the Ute with sound, for me it works, I've ran the speakers through the doors only and it doesn't sound nowhere near as good with running all.

Keep in mind that all my speakers are running through amps and not the head unit, which makes a big difference.

Hope all goes well for your install, as I mentioned before, my install was over a period of a couple of years(time poor).

Cheers Vince

Regarding the Cruise Control connection, Was it necessary to have ford to run diagnostics to have cruise control activated or is there something im missing? Was given impression that all i need was to connect the missing wiring and all was good but appears ive missed something. would appreciate your input please.

Hi

Regarding Cruse Control, I brought a second hand unit with install instructions from eBay $99, my Ute is a base model hence no Cruse.

Install was easy with the instructions provided, or you can google it, lots out there in forums.

I went back to my local Ford dealer to activate it.

Cost $55, took them about 30 mins which included a test drive.

This was a couple of years ago so price might be different.

Hope this helps.

Vince

Quick question.. Does ur 3 seater have AirCon? if not.. are you able to take a photo of the bracket in the engine bay with the part number?
