OK so I've pulled the dash out looking to do LED conversion. The plug on the back on the back of the cigarette lighter was being a pain so I used a screwdriver to lever it away. music was playing then guess what after the screwdriver made contact it made a buzz noise and the music died. head unit will no longer turn back on but it will eject CD's and accept it again so it has power. What has happened? Ive created some kind of circuit...? is my head unit dead? how to fix it???

...I hope you have learned your lesson here. Don't work with electrical stuff while the battery is connected. Always remove the negative terminal before attempting electrical work to be completely safe. If you want music while working on the car, use a portable radio or something.

phong =P~

Don't work on electrical circuits while they are still alive and NEVER use larger than rated fuses, EVER....
