I just went to a garage and bought a pair of Sanyo 30 year old Home entertainment speakers, these things are huge, in a box they house a midrange a woofer and ofcourse a tweeter.

Only $5 each!!

Just a question thou, can these be hooked up to a car cd player considering that the speakers have a rating of 8ohms? dunno if that really means a great deal or not....?

Dont worry im not going to do anything crazy with them i was just curious?

Any feedback would be great.

Cheers

Andrew

Yeah they can be used but will only produce half the volume as compared to a 4ohm speaker.

no problem with hooking them up to a car stereo, they'll only get half the rated power of the car stereo, but home stereo speakers generally arent meant for big power systems.... all about low power and high sensitivity
