You could always cusom build a sub that could fit in the space infront of your gas tank. It'd have to be pretty narrow though so that it could fit between the tank and the back seat.

if its the same as my dads ef xr8 then get a shallow magnet free to air sub and mount it in the parcel tray as there should be moulding already there for it.

pioneer sell one such sub and are the only one's i have seen that do. Having said this i haven't gone looking for any either

I think the pioneer is the go - its hard to find in Aus.

Kicker also do a Shallow sub, however its designed for a box.

Let me know how you go - I too am after a sub. an 8in sub should be able to go in the shelf with spacers..... a 10 might also fit if you do it right.

you can look at smaller subs, depending on how much bass you want. In JB hi-fi, they sell an invisibass, which is a 6.5" subwoofer in a small box.
Jaycar have a similar product, a 6.5" under-seat integrated subwoofer/amp which is 90w RMS Here

Or you could look at mounting a shallow 6.5" or 8" sub in the parcel shelf. I am not too sure what would fit, But I fail to see why a sub like this one wouldn't fit, and you can feed this one 150w RMS. All you would need to do would be to make a spager out of MDF to allow you to mount it in the 8" hole that is in the parcel shelf. I am pretty sure that you would not fit a factory sub in there with the LPG tank (and they are not worth the $$$ anyway)

Hope this helps
Chris

From what i understand 8" is just a mm or two too big but is what the moulds were designed for.

The last place i saw the 'shallow' pioneer sub was strathfield car radios in penrith about a month ago
